Questions & answers
In short
Here you will find answers about visiting, getting started, membership, systems, community and events at Legio Intermeratus, the tabletop club in Augsburg. In short: beginners and competitive players are equally welcome, your first visit is free, and you do not need your own army. Just message us before you come by.
Visiting and getting started
3 questionsYour first visit, costs and how a club night works.
Can I just drop by as a beginner?
Yes. Beginners are expressly welcome. Send us a quick message beforehand by email or viaDiscord, and we'll show you around on your first visit.
Does it cost anything to get to know the club?
Getting to know the club is free. Friday and Saturday are our busiest days, so they're a good time to meet people. If you're new, send us a quick message first and we'll find a good time for your visit.
How does a club night work?
Arrive, say hello, find an opponent, set up a table, play or paint, and tidy up together at the end. You can read the whole evening step by step on our Club night page.
Membership
6 questionsWho can join and how to get started.
How do I become a member?
Anyone can become a member. Just get in touch and we will talk through the next steps. Email us at kontakt@legio-intermeratus.de or contact us through the link hub. You will find all the details on the Join page.
How much does membership cost?
Looking around is free and there is no joining fee. The monthly contribution depends on age and play area: children under 16 are free, teens aged 16 to 18 pay €10, students and apprentices aged 18+ pay €20, and regular Tabletop membership is €30. Trading-card and board-game players have their own €15 contribution. You'll find all the details on the Join page.
What is my contribution used for?
The contributions cover rent, electricity, heating, cleaning, upkeep, terrain, gaming boards, equipment, reserves and new projects. Legio Intermeratus is a registered association and not run for profit: everything that comes in flows back into the club.
What's the difference between Tabletop and TCG/board-game membership?
The TCG and board-game membership is cheaper because it needs less terrain, fewer boards and less equipment. It is geared towards trading card games and board games. Only during Tabletop events or fixed game nights do regular Tabletop members have priority on the Tabletop boards; the tables for TCG and board games are always free. Trying Tabletop is still expressly welcome.
Do I need my own army to take part?
No. You do not need your own army to watch or to play a demo. If you already have your own models, feel free to bring them. Message us first and we will find a good way for you to get started.
Are children and younger players welcome?
Yes. Younger players have reduced or free membership depending on age. There is no fixed minimum age. If you're under 16, please bring a parent's consent and ideally come along with a parent the first time — just send us a quick message beforehand and we'll find a good solution together.
Systems and playing
2 questionsWhat we play and which models are allowed.
Which systems does Legio Intermeratus play?
We play a broad range of systems:
- Warhammer (Games Workshop): Warhammer 40,000 · Age of Sigmar (incl. Spearhead) · The Old World · Horus Heresy · Kill Team
- Other tabletop systems: Bolt Action · Conquest
- Trading card games: Magic: The Gathering · Pokémon
- Roleplaying: Dungeons & Dragons
- Board games and party games
You will find an overview of the hobby on the Tabletop page, and everything about Warhammer on the Warhammer page.
Do my miniatures need to be painted or official models?
No. At Legio, there is no painting requirement and no strict rule about manufacturers or 3D printing. Many people start with simple basic techniques, and painting is not a requirement for playing.
Community and events
3 questionsFor experienced players, the community and fixed dates.
Is Legio worth it for experienced or competitive players?
Yes. We have a very active competitive 40k community where you find opponents and can test lists. We run tournaments, including Spearhead formats, and Kill Team tournament formats are in planning. More on the Warhammer page and under Events.
Do you do anything besides playing?
Yes, plenty. We have an active internal WhatsApp community, go on outings, visit the cinema, order food together and organise events. Everyone can get involved and bring their own ideas.
Are there fixed dates or a summer festival?
Yes: our Summer Festival takes place on Saturday, 25 July 2026, from 15:00 at Oberer Graben 13 in Augsburg, with tabletop, trading card games, a barbecue and community. You will find more formats and dates on the Events page.
